What Is a Delivery Partner?

A delivery partner (delivery company) is the logistics company that handles rider dispatch and delivery for your orders. When a customer places a delivery order, the assigned delivery company receives a task and assigns a rider.

Without an assigned delivery company, delivery orders cannot be dispatched — the system has no one to assign a rider.

Viewing Your Assigned Delivery Companies

  1. Go to Settings → Delivery Partners

You will see a list of delivery companies currently linked to your restaurant. Each entry shows:

  • Company name and logo
  • Coverage area (the zones they serve)
  • Whether they support COD/card-on-delivery
  • Their current operational status

Assigning a Delivery Company

  1. Go to Settings → Delivery Partners
  2. Click Add delivery partner
  3. Browse or search the list of available delivery companies on the platform
  4. Click Assign next to the company you want to add

The company is immediately linked to your restaurant. When a delivery order comes in, the system will route it to one of your assigned delivery companies.

Multiple delivery companies: You can assign more than one delivery company. The platform routes each order to the delivery company best placed to handle it based on availability and coverage. You do not manually choose which DC handles a specific order — routing is automatic. If you want one company to be your primary and others as backup, contact the BookMaMe team to configure the routing priority for your account.

Delivery classes and item metadata

Restaurant delivery eligibility now depends on more than just assigning a delivery company.

For delivery-company fulfillment to work reliably:

  • delivery-enabled menu items must have the required delivery metadata
  • the assigned delivery company must support the delivery class for those items

If those requirements are missing or incompatible, some delivery-company options may not appear for the customer even though a delivery partner is assigned.

Removing a Delivery Company

  1. Go to Settings → Delivery Partners
  2. Click the company you want to remove
  3. Click Remove
  4. Confirm

Important: Removing a delivery company does not affect orders already dispatched to them. Their riders will complete any in-progress deliveries. New delivery orders will only be routed to your remaining assigned companies.

If you remove all delivery companies, delivery orders will be unassignable. Add a replacement before removing your last active company.

If Your Delivery Company Is Not Responding

If orders are sitting unassigned or your assigned delivery company is not dispatching riders promptly:

  1. Check the delivery company's operational status in Settings → Delivery Partners
  2. Contact them directly using the support contact shown
  3. If they remain unresponsive, open a support case in Support Cases with the order reference

For persistent performance issues, consider assigning a backup delivery company or requesting a platform-recommended option from the BookMaMe team.

Self-Delivery (Optional)

If you manage your own riders, you can handle delivery without a third-party delivery company. Contact the BookMaMe team to enable self-delivery mode for your account.
